This post is not about psychedelic plants per se. It is to venerate the family of plant allies that blossom all around us. It is also to share some amazing formulas I have created to expand your sense of awareness and support your journey.
I have been a folk herbalist for more than a decade. My world expanded when I learned that the majority of the common weeds around my house were food and medicine. Since then I have been consciously bringing the plant kingdom into my daily life.
What I want to share is an aspect not often discussed in plant medicine and why taking herbal medicinals expand our consciousness without being psychoactive. When we engage with plants as we would a conscious relationship- with wonder, listening, sovereignty, respect and, above all, reciprocity- a whole mysterious world opens up, a magic portal to the mysteries of life. It’s tantric. We can feel how life is created in a way that severs the need to dissect something down to understand why.
When I sit and feel into how the plants travel within me, thank them, sing to them and listen to their wisdom, I am led into a greater landscape of belonging as everything that made the Cedar Tree is now alive in me. Truth is, it always was. Yet, now I have an ally to help me remember the beauty that made all living, breathing things.
I become more conscious of how I am interwoven with the other than human family and that everything I do has impact. I feel how I am supported by Life all around me, like the Rose. I am reacquainted with the medicine of community. I am nothing without everything. When I feel this, my nervous system begins to heal as limiting beliefs are confronted by this sense of belonging.
With this consciousness reawakened, we become better humans and take greater responsibility for our lives and therefore all of Life.
The plants won’t heal you. They will help you heal yourself. They have boundaries. When taken with a holistic mindset you can open magic portals that have never been traveled until you and said plant ally meet. They are teachers, masters. All of them in their own way.
